A new way
My surgery has decided on a new way for patients to get appointments..its supposed to be more efficient.
I decided to be a good girl and go get an appointmnet so I phoned this morning: my GP (who I have never met) is away so would I like to see another GP and which one - I was agnostic so they decided which one and said I could see them tomorrow.
Great, I thought, and then was informed that the GP would phone me after 8.30am tomorrow to talk to me and then the decision would be made as to whether I got an appointment and at what time - glad I work from church because if I worked away then how on earth would this work for me?
My surgery also, as my other half discovered recently, do not dress wounds after surgery, take blood or indeed do many other minor procedures - no, we have to phone around various clinics who open on different days to see if we can get an appointment! We have been here over three years and have yet to have our initial consultation!
All very time consuming, assume access to transport, and lots of free time. Patient friendly it isn't - maybe they just want to deter us all using the NHS - it just confirms how much I hate going to the doctors!
